Use a high power blender. If you’re debating whether to spend money on a “good” blender, I’m just going to say: do it !! I waited too long to do so, and would rather go through several cheap mixes. Two of my favourite mixers are KitchenAid, Nutribullet Blender, and High Speed Blender.

I am using ruby red grapes, also known as pink grapes (there is a lot of confusion in labeling here) but any sweet and juicy grape is perfect for this recipe.

Health Benefits

Pink grapefruit and cashew smoothie is a delicious and nutritious drink that offers various health benefits. This smoothie is an excellent source of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help to promote good health.

One of the primary benefits of this smoothie is its high vitamin C content. Pink grapefruits are a splendid source of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the body against oxidative stress and free radical damage. Cashews, on the other hand, are a good source of vitamin E, another antioxidant that helps to protect the body against cell damage.

In addition to vitamin C and E, this smoothie also contains many other essential vitamins and minerals. For example, cashews are a good source of magnesium, which plays a crucial role in many bodily functions, including nerve and muscle function, bone health, and immune system support. Pink grapefruits are also a good source of potassium, which helps to regulate blood pressure, support muscle and nerve function, and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Another benefit of this smoothie is its fiber content. Cashews and grapefruits are both high in fiber, which can help to promote digestive health, reduce cholesterol levels, and keep you feeling full for longer. 1 2 This can be particularly helpful if you are trying to maintain a healthy weight or reduce your risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

Finally, this smoothie is an excellent way to stay hydrated. With two cups of ice or filtered water, this smoothie provides plenty of hydration to help keep you feeling refreshed and energized throughout the day.

Few reasons to avoid Pink Grapefruit and Cashew Smoothie

While Pink Grapefruit and Cashew Smoothie has several health benefits, there are also some reasons why some people may want to avoid consuming it. If you take some medications or have sensitive teeth, you may need to limit your grape intake or avoid it altogether.

Some people may need to avoid eating this prescription.

1. Medications

For some people, consuming grapefruit and its juices can lead to discontinuation of medicines.

Medications that interact with grapes most commonly include:

  • Immunosuppressants
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Most calcium channel blockers
  • Indinavir
  • Carbamazepine
  • Some statins

If you are taking any of these medicines, talk to your doctor before including grapes in your diet.

2. Tooth Enamel Erosion

In some instances, eating grapes can cause tooth enamel erosion.

Citric acid, which is found in citrus fruits, is a common cause of enamel erosion, especially if you consume it in excess. 3

If you’ve got particularly sensitive teeth, you’ll need to avoid acidic fruits. However, there are some things you can do to preserve your tooth enamel while still enjoying the grapes:

  • Never suck grapes or other acidic fruits and avoid applying them directly on your teeth.
  • After eating the fruit, rub your mouth with water and wait 30 minutes to brush your teeth.
  • Eat cheese with fruit. This helps neutralize the acidity in your mouth and increase saliva production.
